We found Wichita Home Works after having horrible experiences with other contractors—we’d been strung along for two years by one awful, dishonest contractor. We were really struggling with trust in all contractors at that point, but we were stuck—we had windows and appliances ordered and ready for pickup all over Wichita. Our current kitchen was crumbling around us. We needed our remodel to actually happen and as soon as possible—and we needed to trust someone to get it done and do it well. Nate and John came over to learn more about our project and see if it might be something WHW was interested in. Gratefully, they agreed to take on our kitchen remodel and we proceeded with design, bid, and signing a contract. They were transparent from the get-go about costs and schedule and how the process worked. Most importantly to us, they were honest and we began to trust them. That trust built over the course of our many months remodel. Most of the work was done by WHW’s in-house crew—we cannot say enough wonderful things about them! I spent a lot of time with them during the remodel. The WHW guys are experts at what they do—their work is first rate. And they are kind and honest humans—and we are so grateful to count them as friends. We enjoyed having them in our home during our extensive remodel. When I look around our remodeled spaces today, I see the work of so many expert craftsmen—Kyle’s cabinet finessing and custom drawers/doors, Adrian’s tile, Ivan’s framing, Arturo and Daniel’s painting and finishing, and Tino’s drywall. We had never done a project like this before and we are so grateful for their teamwork and planning. For example, we had multiple new windows installed and the guys installing the windows needed to plan for the height of cabinets and the thickness of countertops months before cabinets and countertops were installed—there was so much thought and planning that had to go into this project at every stage for it to turn out well. And the guys were totally aware of that need for long-term planning. They communicated well with each other and with me. Our designer, Tracey, and estimator, John, tracked the project and communicated with Carlos, our project manager, and the guys doing the work to ensure things were done correctly. Early on in the project, our project manager told us that pretty much anything can be fixed, and we took that to heart—and WHW made good on that commitment. In a project as complicated as ours, not everything will go perfectly all of the time. And some problems arose during our remodel, which is inevitable. But WHW dealt with each issue. And I didn’t have to fight or beg to get things fixed. They took care of any problems without question. I was consistently treated with respect and kindness by everyone—the project manager, the WHW guys, and the subcontractors. My point of view was important to them and always heard. Remodels are long and challenging—and require lots of patience—but we trusted WHW to complete our job and do it well, and they did not disappoint. We now have a functional and beautiful kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, and basement—and we have a trustworthy contractor who does everything with integrity. We’re waiting on a bid for another home project from WHW and hoping to remodel a bathroom with them next year. I was waiting for more than an hour he didn't show up. I called him five to six times didn't reply. He showed up after 70 minutes and told me he didn't see my messages or calls and also he can't do the job today. He had to replace the engine in Dodge Durango about 7 months ago and Friday morning I leave for work and the check engine light is on. I messaged him, as I always have in the past, and didn’t hear a response. Messaged and called a few times though out the day but never heard back. I went out of town over the weekend, not in this vehicle, and followed up with him Sunday after I went to Auto Zone and they said it was the oil pressure sensor. Tried calling and texting Chris right away as this should have been replaced with engine, no response. After breaking down on the Kansas turnpike I googled auto repair nearby and found Chris’s shop. Once my truck was towed to his shop he met me in the alley and diagnosed it on the spot. Turns out water pump died. He immediately ordered the parts and had me back on the road in less than two hours. Thank you Chris for your honest and very professional work.
